The Practice Team

Mrs Jill Calder
Practice Manager

The Practice Manager is responsible for the management and administration of the practice, and co-ordinates the work of the other staff.

Ms Lisa Robertson
Assistant Practice Manager

Provides administrative support to the practice, deals with recalls for clinics, and covers for the Practice Manager in her absence.

Mrs Joanna Baird
Clinical Data Administrator

Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of patients’ records, both manual and computerised. Also provides secretarial support to the practice.

Mrs Norina Marwick
Domiciliary Staff Nurse

Mrs Marwick performs blood tests, injections, blood pressures, etc. in the community for our housebound patients.

Mrs Karen Parker RGN
Practice Nurse

Available by appointment for dressings, injections, immunisations, cervical smears, travel immunisations, chronic disease management and minor health problems, etc. If you wish telephone advice from the Nurse, please telephone the surgery on 0131 554 3533. If the Nurse is unavailable, the receptionist will take your details and ask her to phone you back.

Our fully trained Patient Care Advisers provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and will direct you to the most appropriate person to deal with your care. Please share requested information with them and be assured it will remain entirely confidential. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with all hospital correspondence.

Our highly trained ANP is able to assist with many medical problems and you may be directed to be reviewed by her by our reception staff.

Health Care Assistant

Available by appointment for blood tests, blood pressure checks, lifestyle advice and screening, removal of stitches and simple dressings.

Mrs Angela Boys
Community Pharmacist

The community pharmacist assists the doctors with prescribing at the practice. She also reviews patients for Diabetes, COPD and Asthma reviews and medication reviews.

Health Visiting Team

The health visiting team give help, support and advice to parents regarding pre-school children. They also immunise pre-school children and perform child development checks. They are based at the Health Visitor Base, 165A Leith Walk, Edinburgh.

District Nursing Team

The district nurse can visit you at home to provide nursing care if you are unable to attend the surgery. Their direct telephone number is 0131 561 1927. An answerphone is available when the district nurses are out on visits.

Community Midwives

The midwives provide care and advice during pregnancy and after childbirth. A midwife led antenatal clinic is held at the practice on a Monday afternoon by appointment. If you need to contact the midwives, please telephone 0131 536 6450.
